Vertical Market Manager – Mass Timber, Stiles Machinery – North America

Roland has been involved in all facets of Mass Timber throughout his career. At present, he introduces manufacturers of glulam and CLT to the latest state-of-the-art machinery for Mass Timber manufacture. He assists in full-factory design, modernization, automation, optimization and answers questions on all things related to the Mass Timber Industry. Prior to joining Stiles, Roland was a Wood Scientist with the USDA Forest Products Laboratory where, for 17 years, he conducted research on glued-laminated timber. He also worked for APA – The Engineered Wood Association as an engineered wood specialist and for Bell Structural Solutions, a Division of ALAMCO Wood Products, as a Project Manager of commercial mass timber projects.
