Design Principal, Perkins&Will

As Design Principal in the Washington DC Studio of Perkins&Will, Carl Knutson has led the design of the Congress Heights and Southwest DC community libraries – each unique mass timber icons in the Nation’s Capital. Other recent work includes Bowie State University’s Communications Arts Building, University of Virginia’s Gilmer Hall, Georgetown University’s Hart Auditorium, and The Field School’s Innovation expansion. Each of the projects is a unique sustainable design response to a compelling program and place.
