Nick Milestone

Chief Operating Officer, Mercer Mass Timber

Nick Milestone, MSc, is Chief Operating Officer of Mercer Mass Timber. He also serves as Director of WoodWorks USA and sits on the board of the British Columbia government’s Construction Innovation Advisory Council. He previously chaired the Timber Research and Development Association UK (TRADA) and served as Vice Chair, Timber Development UK.

Before joining Mercer Mass Timber, Nick was a main board director at Remagin UK Ltd., which develops hybrid light gauge steel and mass timber modular building systems. Earlier in his career, he held director roles at Katerra, where he led Mass Timber and Hybrid Solutions for North America, and at the William Hare Group, where he directed Off-Site and Innovation across the UK, UAE, and Singapore, developing building systems in mass timber, structural steel, and load-bearing light gauge steel.

From 2002 to 2017, Nick was with the Bowmer & Kirkland construction group, ultimately serving as Managing Director of B&K Structures Ltd, the UK’s largest structural steel and mass timber design and construction business.

He led the development of the UK’s first National Structural Timber Specification, which set design, manufacturing, and installation tolerances for solid wood construction, and chaired the working committee that produced the Mass Engineered Timber Handbook for Singapore.
