Sandra Lupien

Sandra Lupien is the Director of MassTimber@MSU, a program at Michigan State University that harnesses outreach, communications, research, education, policy, and partnerships to advance mass timber construction and manufacture in Michigan and the surrounding region. In this role, she mobilizes and maintains a diverse network of hundreds of practitioners and stakeholders advancing mass timber construction and production and oversees a diverse research and project portfolio. Lupien also leads the Great Lakes Mass Timber Collaborative. In Fall 2025-Spring 2026, she served as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu, examining mass timber-focused policies across the U.S., Canada, Finland, and the European Union.
